Getting Creative and making memories, Wonka Style

Our First "Wonka Day"
Now that Summer is almost over and autumn will soon be with us. With that comes
school, sports, raking leaves and of course the holidays.

When the weather gets chill and the kids get bored, have a "Wonka Day."

Well in case you are wondering what that is, it is gathering together some creative kids along with a lot of fixings to make edible treats using many different types of candy and goodies! We did our first one in December, so the grand-kids made a lot of snowmen as you can see from the picture but it would work for any holiday. There is an official Wonka Day, but this was just our way of celebrating it.

1.   I picked up gumdrops, marshmallows, frosting mix to stick things down with, licorice, other small
colored candies, graham crackers, etc but you can definately improvise, that's what is fun about it. The
look on their faces when they see all the candy laid out in piles is great! Of course they will definately dip
into it, but a little can't hurt.
2.   Next you will need toothpicks, paper plates, popcycle sticks, and napkins.
3.   Add kids (or kids at heart), and have fun! Oh yes and take pictures of their creations.

It has been a while since we had a Wonka day, so we are due to have another one. Since my family has grown I have one more  grandchild and a great-grand-daughter to add to the fun. I can't wait.
